Requirements & Courses

The Tauber Institute for Global Operations educates the next generation of operations leaders. Students admitted to the Tauber Institute enhance their University of Michigan degrees through a combination of required and elective courses, exclusive facility tours, and participation in the Tauber Institute's LeadershipAdvantage program.

All Tauber Institute students complete a Tauber team project - a paid 12-week summer internship that challenges students to develop new solutions for substantive operations issues at sponsoring companies.

The elements of the Tauber program are built around solid fundamentals that complement your specific area of study:

a graduate degree in business (MBA)
a graduate degree in engineering (EGL or another area of study within Engineering)
dual Business (MBA or Masters of Management ) and Engineering Degree
a Ross BBA plus MSCM through the BTS fast track program.

In addition to your degree requirements, as a Tauber student, you must take three required courses, elective courses (based upon your degree program), attend facility tours, and participate in the LeadershipAdvantage program. This holistic approach applies classroom and e-learning to develop the hard and soft skills students will need on their Tauber Team Project and throughout their future careers.
