The Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan is a world-class institute committed to excellence in operations leadership education.
Our mission is to empower leaders to solve operations, supply chain, and technology-based challenges through a multidisciplinary action-oriented education, global industry partnerships, and a dynamic community to create a positive impact.
The Tauber Institute is a joint venture between the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering, working together with a wide range of industry partners to facilitate cross-disciplinary education in global operations management.
In 2012, the Institute was recognized with the first UPS George D. Smith Prize for effective and innovative preparation of students to be good practitioners of operations research, management science, or analytics.
For more than 25 years the Tauber Institute has impacted operations worldwide. Elements of the program include the LeadershipAdvantage program, facility tours, international trek, and team projects where students work on substantive issues through team-based projects to earn or save sponsoring companies millions of dollars. The Tauber Institute is led by three Co-Directors representing the Ross School of Business, College of Engineering, and Industry.
The Tauber Institute works closely with our 30-member Industry Advisory Board to ensure our programming remains on the leading edge for our students and corporate sponsors.
