Model for Guiding In-Sourcing Decisions

Boeing Metals has asked Tauber Institute to develop a methodology to help make/buy decisions in order to increase factory utilization. The proposed approach considers unit costs, strategic future importance, IP, and supply chain quality and health, amongst other variables. This methodology aligns the characteristics of each package with the capability and capacity of the manufacturing sites.
