Manufacturing and Supply Chain Optimization for ScotchBlue and Abrasives

The team's challenge was to identify improvement areas within the supply chain that would balance inventory levels while meeting high customer fill rates for ScotchBlue(TM) tapes and abrasive sandpaper.

Project sponsors Ashley Kees, Mark Larison and Scott Snavely along with UM faculty Robert Inman and Lisa Pawlik, guided the team as they conducted research and value stream mapping to uncover factors contributing to excess inventory and sub-optimal operation.
