Developing A Supplier Assessment Framework

Amazon Robotics (AR) Operations has identified a need to bolster its targeted sourcing and supplier management efforts to meet the pressures of its rapid growth and scope expansion across new product innovation (NPI).

To address this critical need, the Tauber team will develop a supplier assessment framework to support the AR NPI program’s holistic assessment of suppliers within a commodity. The framework and recommendations developed by the Tauber team will be applied across AR programs, AR technology roadmaps, and AR supplier management processes.

The intended outcome of this project is to enhance the agility and effectiveness of AR Operations’ decision making with regards to strategic sourcing, trade-offs, and supplier management by recognizing supplier capabilities in rapid prototyping, manufacturing, technology scalability, and program management.
