A Tauber team evaluated automation for Boeing’s new 777X composite wing paint facility in St. Louis. Through benchmarking, throughput analysis, and equipment cost comparisons, the team recommended robotic sanding and painting systems and flexible facility layouts. The business case projected lower operating costs, fewer ergonomic incidents, and reduced rework.
