Anne Partington is Managing Director and Head of Industry Partnerships for the University of Michigan Tauber Institute for Global Operations. She leads the Institute’s strategy, operations, industry partnerships, and staff team, working across the Ross School of Business and College of Engineering to advance Tauber’s growth and impact.
Anne develops and executes strategic initiatives at the intersection of industry, technology, talent, and applied learning. Her work includes expanding Tauber’s industry portfolio, building new partnership and project models, strengthening the Institute’s operating model, and advancing initiatives in intelligent operations, emerging technology, and industry thought leadership. She brings together corporate leaders, faculty, students, alumni, and external partners to address complex business and operational challenges and create new opportunities for collaboration.
Anne brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across global industry, technology commercialization, economic development, and higher education. At Stellantis, she led a global mechatronics purchasing organization responsible for $3.5 billion in annual spending across five regions. Her corporate experience also includes leadership roles at General Motors in product development, program management, purchasing, and manufacturing.
Before joining Tauber, Anne directed the University of Michigan’s MTRAC Advanced Transportation Innovation Hub, where she worked with researchers, industry leaders, and investors to advance university technologies toward commercialization. She also served as Managing Director of Ann Arbor SPARK East, supporting company growth, entrepreneurship, and regional economic development.
Anne serves on the Michigan Commission for Logistics and Supply Chain Collaboration and on the Advisory Board of the Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation, where she supports professional development and career advancement initiatives. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Engineering Science, with a concentration in Management of Technology, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
