Ann Arbor, MI, March 16, 2016 – The University of Michigan continues to be recognized nationally in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of graduate programs.  Engineering and Business schools were assessed in U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2017, and the College of Engineering earned 6th place for Best Engineering Schools and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business placed 12th for Best Business Schools. Among the master's specialty programs ranked individually by the publication for 2017, U-M earned high rankings for several, including:

• Industrial / Manufacturing / Systems Engineering, 2nd
• Production / Operations, 4th
• Supply Chain / Logistics, 5th

Among the programs ranked each year in America's Best Graduate Schools — business, education, engineering, law, medicine, as well as nursing — U-M maintained top-15 rankings in all six categories. View a summary of other U-M rankings for 2017. Not all academic programs are ranked every year.

In 2012, the Tauber Institute for Global Operations was awarded the first UPS George D. Smith Prize for effective and innovative preparation of students to be good practitioners of operations research, management science, or analytics.
