The White House has announced that Sridhar Kota, the Herrick Professor of Engineering and director of the Institute for Manufacturing Leadership, will lead MForesight: The Alliance for Manufacturing Foresight. It is a national consortium to identify emerging advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance the country's innovation ecosystem, manufacturing competitiveness and national security. The National Science Foundation and the U.S. Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology are funding MForesight with a three-year, $5.8 million cooperative agreement.
