Tauber Institute welcomes Cardinal Health's Meredith Rarey to the IAB

Ann Arbor, MI – Cardinal Health Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing Meredith Rarey joins representatives of 30 of the world's top corporations as a member of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations Industry Advisory Board. The Industry Advisory Board's objective: to cultivate future leaders in operations through support of the Tauber Institute's multidisciplinary experiential learning mission.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, Cardinal Health, Inc. is a global, integrated healthcare services and products company, providing customized solutions for hospitals, health systems, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories and physician offices worldwide. Meredith Rarey has been a member of the Cardinal Health Global Sourcing team for over five years.  In her current role, Meredith has Sourcing responsibility for the Presource kitting division where she manages over $700 Million in spend across 13,000+ sku’s.  Prior to this role she was the Director of Sourcing Operations with responsibility for 1,500 Medical product suppliers, distribution agreements, supplier master data, reporting and analytics, and sourcing strategy development.

Meredith is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  She holds an APICS CPIM certification, Lean Manager and Master Black Belt certifications, is a member of HIDA’s Professional Women in Healthcare, and a coach for Girls on the Run. Meredith also serves on the Board of Directors for the Danby Group, a $500 million, family run company with headquarters in Montreal, Canada.

The Tauber Institute brings together graduate students from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and College of Engineering to gain operations expertise and leadership skills, then work together at sponsoring companies around the world, tackling diverse operations challenges in industries such as aerospace, energy, internet commerce, automotive manufacturing, tech, and healthcare. In over 30 collaborative projects with industry each year, the Tauber Institute applies cutting-edge operations theory to real-world problems, saving sponsoring companies millions of dollars through increased efficiency and waste reduction, and often simultaneously improving working conditions and reducing environmental impact.

Input from the Industry Advisory Board ensures that the Tauber Institute stays at the forefront of operations education and responds quickly to industry needs. Offering guidance consistent with the program's mission and objectives, the Industry Advisory Board actively assists the Tauber Institute in achieving its academic and research goals through industry leadership, cooperation, feedback, and acquisition of financial support.

The board, which meets twice a year with Tauber Institute leadership, represents a diverse group of organizations.
