Tauber Institute Participates at INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Tauber Institute for Global Operations, a joint venture between the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering, participated in the INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics and O.R. 2014, this must-make event of the year in the analytics, operations research or, management science fields. The conference was held in Boston, Massachusetts on March 30-April 1, 2014.

The Tauber Institute sponsored the Executive Forum which kicked-off the event. Executive speakers introduced the Forum and brought their own unique perspectives to the growing analytics field and how to best leverage this “tsunami” that can transform organizations. The Tauber Institute also participated with an exhibit at the opening of the floor exhibits at the Westin Boston Waterfront and was one of the sponsors of the Edelman Award Ceremony and Banquet held Monday evening which included the UPS George D. Smith prize. The UPS George D. Smith Prize is an award created to strengthen ties between academia and industry. The award recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of analytics and operations research. Tauber Institute Engineering Co-director Lawrence Seiford served as the committee member.

The INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics and O.R. 2014 wrapped up on Tuesday, April 1.
