By providing expert solutions for operations challenges, Tauber Community Service Day teams help community organizations leverage their resources to maximize their good work. On February 11, Tauber Institute student, alumni, staff, faculty, and industry advisory board volunteers will contribute their time and talent to Communities First and Center for Success.

Communities First is a non-profit which aims to build healthy, vibrant communities through economic development, affordable housing and innovative programming.

  • Inventory Control (led by EGP Arun Palaniappan): Communities First is looking for the Tauber team to create an automated inventory control system to be piloted at their corporate offices in Flint and Detroit before being implemented across other properties. Additionally, the Tauber team will help Communities First establish policies and procedures that allow their staff to easily maintain and organize all of the items they use to complete their mission to the communities they serve.
  • Outreach Data Analysis (led by EGL Matt Howard): In an effort to assist with part of Community First’s 2022 strategic plan relating to their social media presence, the Tauber team will perform a comprehensive data analysis to establish current social media metrics and trends for the company across multiple platforms. The Tauber team will use their analysis to recommend next steps for the organization to optimize social media outreach.

Center for Success is a non-profit which seeks to unite community and literacy to empower elementary school students in the journey of education.

  • Community Resource Database (led by EGLs Kagan Conrad & Jeremy Segal): To assist with the expansion of its after school program, the Center for Success is looking for the Tauber team to explore and research community resources and contacts. The resulting list will be utilized to recruit mentors for elementary youth. Increasing the number of invested and dedicated mentors will enable current and increased numbers of students to have the opportunity of one on one literacy mentoring.
