Marcos Purty, Vice President of Ops Customer Fulfillment

Marcos Purty, Vice President of Ops Customer Fulfillment, joins Amazon from General Motors, where he spent the past 26 years in diverse senior leadership roles across manufacturing, engineering, general management, sales, and marketing. He most recently served as the Executive Director of Manufacturing Global Strategy and Planning based in Detroit, MI. His career at GM took him across the globe, with positions in the US, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, and Thailand, while also leading many business initiatives throughout Southeast Asia.

Marcos has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida A& M University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. He was recognized by the Career Communications Group with the 2020 Black Engineer of the Year Career Achievement Award and was a 2019 Michigan Chronicle Men of Excellence Honoree. In addition, Marcos serves on the executive board of the Pontiac Kappa Foundation, which is a key driver in his active support of community STEM initiatives.

Marcos currently resides in Northville, MI, with his wife Tracy of 18 years and their two sons Myles (14) and Bryce (12). As a family, they enjoy traveling, cooking, attending sporting events together, and Marcos pursues photography as a personal hobby.
