Sharon Pfeuffer, acting-Vice President of Distribution Engineering and Construction, IAB President

DTE Energy is a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. Its operating units include an electric utility serving 2.2 million customers in Southeastern Michigan and a natural gas utility serving 1.3 million customers in Michigan. The DTE Energy portfolio includes non-utility energy businesses focused on power and industrial projects, natural gas pipelines, gathering and storage, and energy marketing and trading.

Sharon Pfeuffer is acting-VP of Distribution Engineering and Construction for DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. The operating unit DTE Electric is the electric utility serving 1.2 million customers in Michigan. As one of Michigan’s leading corporate citizens, DTE Energy is a force for growth and prosperity in the 450 Michigan communities it serves in a variety of ways, including philanthropy, volunteerism, and economic progress.

Pfeuffer is responsible for electric business planning, and generation strategy and regulatory support for DTE Electric.  In addition, she has responsibility for the support of retail open access (ROA/electric choice) customers and corporate forecasting.

Pfeuffer joined DTE Energy in 2001 and has over 30 years of engineering, operations, and leadership experience in fossil-fired power plants, and generation capital project planning and execution. Previously, Pfeuffer had roles in the generation for FPL (Florida) and Wisconsin Electric Power Co. 

Pfeuffer earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of South Florida. She is also a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan and a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.

Pfeuffer is on the non-profit board at Mercy Education Project in Detroit. She serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan. Internal to DTE she currently serves on the Advisory Committee for the Women of DTE, the Elder Care Support Group, and is a mentor.
