Our mission is to cultivate future leaders capable of addressing dynamic operations, supply chain, and technology-based challenges through a multidisciplinary, action-oriented education. We achieve this by immersing students in the two-year Tauber Institute academic program, providing leadership experiences, fostering a thriving global student community, facilitating technical skill building with leading experts, and engaging them in immersive global industry partner projects.
The Tauber Institute is a joint venture between the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering, working together with a wide range of industry partners to facilitate cross-disciplinary education in global operations management.
In 2012, the Institute was recognized with the first UPS George D. Smith Prize for effective and innovative preparation of students to be good practitioners of operations research, management science, or analytics.
For more than 30 years the Tauber Institute has impacted operations worldwide. Elements of the program include the LeadershipAdvantage program, facility tours, and team projects where students work on substantive issues through team-based projects to earn or save sponsoring companies millions of dollars.
