The Strategic Projects Manager will be part of an important new group in the company driving transformational operations projects. The Strategic Projects Manager will have responsibility for (a) providing actionable strategic insights & immediately impactful actions to multiple stakeholders, and (b) development of project-specific analytical tools to identify and manage business improvement opportunities. The Strategic Projects Manager is responsible for leading and implementing improvement projects.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Analytical modeling - develop models and design dashboards to identify improvement opportunities (examples include product positioning, pricing, cost reduction, inventory reduction)
Collaboration – Engage proactively with multiple business stakeholders across organizational levels from front line operators to executive leadership, prioritize across projects in a fast-paced environment
Problem solving – resolves problems in a structured manner, leveraging both analytical and facilitation skills to identify root causes and drive resolution
Performance metric architecture – design and implement performance metrics to support performance improvement and change management
Material and information flow optimization – identify opportunities or work on projects as assigned to improve productivity and processes
Data cleansing and validation - work with IT to create automated processes to validate data against multiple data sources, identify and rectify anomalies
Identification of opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and model extension
Travels up to 80%
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
BS/MS in a technical field
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, supply chain or data analysis environment
Strong demonstrated quantitative research skills leading to action and measurable impact.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Experience with data systems, analytical and visualization tools (e.g., SAP, SQL, Access, Tableau Power BI, ACL, QlikView, Data Cubes, Financial and Planning software such as Hyperion)
Strong organizational skills and customer service focus
Experience in implementing and streamlining data processes, plus experience with non-theoretical, “messy” datasets
Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively in a team environment
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks while under pressure
Builds and maintains relationships with users to ensure buy-in and adoption of processes and solutions
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel extensively
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
