Jorge Ramirez, Director, Global Director of Manufacturing & Chief Manufacturing Cybersecurity Officer

Ramirez serves as the Global Director of Execution Automation and as the Chief Manufacturing Cybersecurity Officer.  He is responsible for ensuring the execution of automation technologies for program logic controllers, robotics, and conveyors including data analytics. He also leads a cross-functional team across Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, GMIT, and Global Telecom to develop, deploy, and sustain cybersecurity controls globally at GM’s manufacturing facilities. In early 2019, Ramirez repatriated from Korea where he served as the Director of GM International Operations Manufacturing Engineering Vehicle Systems for seven years.  Prior to this role, Ramirez led the North American Execution Machinery and Equipment Group, and the North American Execution Automation Group, and managed the Assembly Verification Group where he had global responsibility for developing the End-of-Line manufacturing processes and test applications for General Motors.

Jorge received an MBA with a concentration in finance and corporate strategy from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in 2003 and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Indiana Institute of Technology. Jorge serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan.
