POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the execution of strategies leading to competitive costs, quality, delivery, and service for indirect procurement activities.  Specific areas of Commodity focus including: 1) Capital investment; 2) Operating and Industrial Supplies; 3) Services. to lead Procurement activities for a defined commodity group from the point of customer award through end of production. Scope of responsibility may be regional and/or global (in accordance with Commodity Team alignment).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Commodity Manager to provide input to execute global commodity strategy.

  • Define Stoneridge’s current and future global needs for specific commodity groupings.
  • Evaluate nature of market supply along with process and technology trends
  • Source in accordance with the commodity strategy.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to drive standardization and strategy execution.

Execute strategic sourcing decisions

  • Help define Stoneridge’s current and future global needs for specific commodity groupings (e.g. capital equipment)
  • Assist in evaluating nature of market supply along with process and technology trends
  • Help identify opportunities to commonize processes, materials and equipment globally
  • Assist in defining and maintaining a supplier strategy including managing the relationships
  • Execute strategic supplier agreements
  • Interact with internal stakeholders to drive standardization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Five to Ten years of experience in manufacturing related field.
  • Ability to create and deliver clear, persuasive presentations
  • Demonstrated executive disposition along with ability to negotiate at Senior levels
  • Experience working in global project team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact positively with all levels in the organization
  • Good English language skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team       

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 25% Travel
