World Pantry is an established, growing San Francisco Bay Area based e-commerce company specializing in gourmet, natural and organic foods. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Operations & Supply Chain (newly-created position) will be responsible for the customer facing operational roles of warehouse operations and fulfillment, inbound and outbound delivery logistics, and replenishment purchasing. The person in this role will oversee warehouse and purchasing teams totaling approximately 35 people.
Our new VP will be a key member of the top executive leadership group, working closely with peers - CEO, CTO/VP of Engineering, COO/VP of Business
Development, CFO, Marketing Directors - to provide guidance and support on operational and customer service matters, as well as growth strategy, business systems, HR and financial issues.
Specifically, the VP of Operations & Supply Chain will be responsible for creating a truly world class operational team that provides exceptional service to our customers at every touchpoint. To achieve this, the successful candidate will create a clear vision of success, hire and develop an exceptional team, and develop a customer focused culture that is passionate about continuous learning and improvement.
Along with the CEO, the VP of Operations & Supply Chain will be a key driver in the company's Lean transformation. WorldPantry.com is still early in its Lean transformation, but is highly committed, as evidenced by its Co-Learning Partnership with the Lean Enterprise Institute (www.lean.org).
We're looking for at least 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment, with 3+ years in a senior level operational leadership role of a company with revenues of $75 million to $500 million.
And, for someone who is a very experienced Lean practitioner with 6+ year track record of Lean leadership success including creating cultures of continuous learning and improvement.
As well as a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves strategic thinker with ability to manage current day-to-day operations while providing strategic insight and leadership needed to massively scale the organization.
