Vice President and General Manager Automotive Aftermarket Division
Laurie has over 30 years of experience with 3M and has held a variety of laboratory, manufacturing and international assignments since joining the company in 1981. She started with the company in Corporate Research Process Technologies Laboratory as a chemical process development engineer and then moved to positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing management.
Laurie was awarded the Minnesota Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year Award in 1989 for her work with high school female students encouraging them to pursue careers in math, science and engineering. Laurie also completed a Six Sigma Master Black Belt assignment for Abrasives Systems Division.
From 2003-2007, Laurie was located in the ANZ region, first as Managing Director for 3M New Zealand and then as Managing Director for 3M in Australia. She is presently the Vice President and General Manager for the Construction and Home Improvement Markets Division in 3M’s Consumer and Office Business. She serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan. Laurie graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1980 and then completed a MS in Chemical Engineering at Notre Dame prior to joining 3M.
